Our Story
Founded in 1920s Kyoto, hōjicha was born from a simple desire: to avoid wasting any good tea. The artisans decided to roast the tea leaves and make the most out of it, creating something truly special in the process.
Hōjicha is a unique toasty-nutty flavor tea. The word hōji (meaning roasting), while cha refers to tea. This roasting process gives hōjicha its distinctive warm brown color and reduces the caffeine content, making it perfect for evenings or caffeine-sensitive drinkers.
At Hōjitee, we source high quality teas to make people enjoy their cups like ours. Built with passion, we love the drinks and want to share the best of Asia to Europe with our base in Helsinki, Finland.
